If you *don't know the background, I'm measuring a week behind with spotting and cramping.
When I had my u/s I was supposed to be 6w4d, but I measured 5w4d. I have one next monday which would put me....
by their measurements would be 7w1d
by my O date (Nov 1) would be 8w1d
by *my doctor would be 9w0d
I should see the heartbeat right? There was only a gestational sac and a yolk sac at my last one. My MW said she hopes we can, but I don't know. Also, if there's no growth, would that mean I have to have a D&E?
I know this sounds like something a 2nd timer should be confused about, but I found out I was pregnant with DS at 7 weeks and saw him at 11 weeks, which is later than most.
Re: Ok, Need advice about u/s next Monday (Long, maybe confusing)
Well, I'm certainly no expert, but by 7 weeks I think you should be able to see the heart beat. I saw DD's at 7w3d. Not sure if that is standard though.
Either way, wishing you the best result!
We saw the flicker at 6w1d (by the u/s measurements) so I would think you should see the hb, or at least some growth.
Good luck to you all.
This
With doppler my OB said it usually is hard to hear the heart beat before 10/11 weeks. But by u/s I'd assume it would be earlier.
Also, before 10 weeks I think D&C is completely optional. But hopefully that won't be an issue! GL!
Thanks, me too. I'm trying to be more of a realist/optimist this time. I'm normally a HUGE pessimist, lol.
at 7w1d you should be able to see a HB in the ultrasound BUT I have heard of instances where you dont but are able to see it a couple days later.
Regarding the measurements, if the tech measures a little inside it can appear like the baby is measuring smaller. Dont be too concerned about that.
Good luck to you and baby.
I'm no dr but I agree that you should at least see growth and poss a hb by 7w! You are in my thoughts and prayers! maybe the baby is just a slow grower! positive thoughts!!
ideally, yes, you should see the heartbeat. but when i was measuring behind i had to have THREE u/s before i could see the heartbeat, and that was when i was at 8w3d from LMP and measuring 7w4d.
i had really started giving up hope... even though there was growth of the gestational and yoke sacs from u/s to u/s, i assumed no heartbeat meant i'd lose the baby. but for my little one, it just took some time.
best of luck to you, and i really hope you see the heartbeat!
