as a "super nanny" type that comes to your home and helps you, but for sleep training? I'm desperate...my child still is only giving 2-3 30 min naps and I feel like we have tried everything...yet at daycare he sleeps 1-1.5 hr naps 2 times per day...how do we fix this!?
Re: Don't laugh, but is there such a thing
Babies2Sleep, they've got an ad on the right hand side of the screen here. If you don't see it...

Hang in there!
There are sleep consultants out there. If found this on Yelp - I bet she's come out to your area. https://www.yelp.com/biz/vivian-sonnenberg-infant-sleep-consultant-mill-valley-3
Also, I would talk to your DCP in detail about what they might be doing differently than you are.
Ditto. This is what we did and we realized we were doing things differently than DCP. Once we made some small changes...success!
Yes, there are sleep consultants. But I don't know if you need one - you know he CAN and DOES take regular good naps, you just have to figure out how daycare does it.
E has always napped much better during the week for our nanny in our nanny-share. I think it's b/c of 2 things: the nanny has the girls on a very regular, set routine/schedule. And, the nanny does lots of fun stuff with the girls - lots of active park and social time. So I think the routine plus the activity equal a good napper.
Do you know what his daycare routine/schedule looks like?
This is true for us too.
I do have a friend of a friend who hired a sleep consultant and they felt it was not worth it so I would make sure to get references if you do end up getting one. I am sure there are better ones than others.
We struggled with this at first too. We have talked to DCP in lengthy detail and followed what she does for naps and we could never get DD to be on the same routine (or any routine for that matter).
DCP puts DD down when she looks sleepy and she has just goes to sleep with no fuss. ::Shrugs::
I don't know if its us, DCP, the environment, or what. But we ended up having to CIO for naps. That was the only way we could get DD to take 1+ hour naps.
I've heard mixed reviews about the sleep experts coming in but I don't think it can hurt. Good luck!
You may want to ask your pedi if they have any recommendations. Good luck!
