how often do you go to the ob with twins?
i have my first ob appt today and mh was asking me all sorts of questions of how often i will have to go that i just couldn't answer. i know for a singleton pregnancy, but not for twins.
i know my dr will tell me today but i just wanted to hear from you ladies how often you went to the ob at what points in your pregnancy.

As I'm sure you'll see by the responses here, treatment and frequency of visits differ a lot on this board, it all depends on your doctor. At first, my OB wanted to see me every 3-4 weeks (closer to 3 than 4). My MFM wanted to see me every 4-5 week, and I also go for a growth scan every 4 weeks. This adds up to an appointment almost every week and the longest I go without seeing someone is 2 weeks. I know that starting 28-30 weeks, but MFM will also want to see me more often, perhaps every 2-3 weeks and at 32 weeks, I think I'll go to him every week.
Now that I have had an uptick in Braxton Hicks, my OB wants to see me every 2 weeks.
My DH doesn't go to all the appointments (it would be near impossible). He mainly makes sure to attend all of the growth scans.
Here is how my schedule went:
7 weeks- U/S
9 weeks- U/S
12 weeks- 20 weeks, I had an appointment every 4 weeks
20 weeks- First level 2 u/s
20-28 weeks- Had u/s and appt every 4 weeks
28 weeks- started bi-weekly appts.
28-32 weeks- continued bi-weekly appts and had one growth u/s
32 weeks- Started weekly appts
34 weeks- had growth u/s and first interntal
35 weeks- had appt and first NST
36 weeks- had second internal and second NST
37 weeks- I have an u/s and an appt (unsure what they will do at the appt)
Honestly, it seems like there are so many different factors and every OB practice is different. If you are having mo/mo or mo/di twins, if you used fertility meds, if you have GD or any other health issues, you will likely be monitored more closely.
My OB practice is more on the laid back side, plus I have no other risk factors. I have a friend pregnant with mo/mo twin girls who is 19 weeks along and she is now seeing both her OB and her peri on a weekly basis.
Here is my schedule (just to compare)
Very first OB appt- 11 weeks (found out it was twins)
2nd OB appt - 17 weeks
First MFM appt - 19 weeks (aka Level II U/S)
3rd OB appt - 21 weeks
2nd MFM appt - 25 weeks
4th OB appt - 26 weeks
5th OB appt - 29 weeks
3rd MFM appt - 30 weeks
6th OB appt - 33 weeks (scheduled)
4th MFM appt - 36 weeks (scheduled)
Basically I see my OB every 4 weeks and my MFM every 6
I think it also depends on what kind of twins you have. If they share a sac, you will go MUCH more often. If they share a placenta, etc, ?- all of those things are factors.

My SIL had a very uneventful PG with fraternal twins and didn't have to go that often until the end. Mine are identical, they share a placenta, so they wanted to see me every other week to make sure they didn't have twin to twin transfusion. ?Then my cervix measured short so now I have to go weekly.
