I know about all the "fun" stuff I get to buy (cribs, strollers etc.) but I have no idea how many bottles, and all the "functional" stuff I need, anyone have a list?
No list, but for bottles it is going to depend on how often you want to wash bottles. When they are little they will eat 7-8 times x 2 babies, I ended up washing bottles after the 4th feeding and it was a pain. Skip the small 4 ounce bottles and buy the 8-10ounce, it will save you money in the end. You can never have enough burp clothes or bibs. I would start out with a couple of cases of newborn diapers, you can always return them and get the next size up, stock up on wipes. We buy a case at Sam's that has 740ish wipes and that lasts maybe 2-3 weeks in our house. Have different types of paci's to see what your kids will like. The things we needed that we didn't think about was alcohol for the cord, q tips, guaze and vaseline for the circumcision. You won't need alot of soap and shampoo, you use so little for each baby, we haven't even half way on either in the bottle we opened when they were born. I would also buy an extra set of sheets and if you are buying swaddles get an extra set for any midnight messes.

I EP'd for a month and then FF - we wanted enough bottles to get us through the day so we didn't have to wash at all except doing one load in the dishwasher each night - so it was approx 16 bottles needed (each ate 8/day) but i think we had 18 so we always had one extra set.
don't buy that many bottles until you know if your babies like them, though!
We used miracle blankets - and IMO you need at least 4 so you have 2 clean... we have 8 of them I think - which is nice so we aren't scrounging around in the laundry to find them all the time.
Not sure if this is on your list or not, but without a doubt the most handy thing we have is 2 boppy pillows. We use them for everything (feeding both at same time for late night feedings), naps, tummy time, learning to sit, etc. I would DIE without them.
