How soon did you bath your nb at home and how often?

LO is 6 days old and I am giving him a bath today.  I feel bad for waiting so long but between my toddler and the little one I haven't had much time.  He still smells so sweet and new so I didn't feel a huge urgency but now I feel bad.  How about you?

  • I didn't bathe DD until her cord fell off.  Before that it was sponge bathing.  I guess it was two weeks after she was born I finally tried the bath with her.

  • we waited till about the 8th day. Now we're starting every other day baths.

  • I'm pretty sure my nb was about six days old when I bathed him. He was bathed in the hospital so I didn't feel too bad. /i had complications and was in a lot of pain at first too.

My three year old son loves to help bathe his brother.

  • They gave DS his first bath at the hospital then I sponge bathed him twice before his cord fell off (about 2 weeks) The day it fell off I've been bathing him either every night or every other night....he LOVES being in the water!
  • we bathes the day he came home at 8 days old - his cord was still on...

  • We sponge bathed him every other day starting the day after he came home. Now that his cord is off, he gets a tub bath every other day.
  • I gave her a sponge bath everyother day until her cord stump fell off. She gets baths every night now. I love the way she smells after a bath!
