i am wandering if one of my girls will actually catch up on her sister in weight. She is almost a pound (350 grams) bigger than her sister on her second month appointment. They had 50 grams difference up to now. Are they going to be very different from now on when it comes to weight and height? I know that as long as they are growing i should not worry but i am just wandering what your experience with this is. I am breastfeeding and giving suppliment formula at the same time. The smaller baby has a hard time with the bottle where the second one takes the bottle but not from me.
Thanks,:)
Re: Two month appointment and babies have almost a pound difference. Do your twins grow the same or are
my boys were 2lbs apart at birth and are now almost 4lbs apart. Gibby is just HUGE and likes to eat a lot more than Gray does... even though Gray is growing just fine - Gibby has grown a lot faster.
When they were first born i was hoping to get Gray to "catch up" thinking he might be annoyed if his twin was a lot bigger than him when they are older- but i soon realized that is silly- esp b/c they are fraternal twins- they are no different than any other brothers are - and brothers are not always the same size....
even ID twins can grow at very different rates. It's common.
Sometimes the smaller one ends up being the bigger one... but from what i've seen when i've asked about this on MoM boards- they usually stay a few lbs apart.
My boys were a full pound apart at birth and at almost year old they are still a pound apart.
The bigger twin always eats more and nurses longer then the smaller twin.
It's funny because you don't think a pound is really that big of a deal until you see it in a baby - then it is a big deal!

we have a 3 pound difference over here.
my DS eats a lot more than my DD so it is clear why he is so much heavier. he would eat all day if he could!
