Hello Ladies,I am back from my ET today. We had 3 eggs, all 3 fertilized with 1 being fantastic. The one was a 10 cell and the other 2 were 6 cell. So, I elected to place 2 of the embryos back with the option to freeze the other if it continues to develop.Has anyone had a similar experience where the little one caught up? The Doc mentioned today that they sometimes thrive in the natural environment and that it could catch up. This led me to only place the 2 in rather then all 3. So, I am now curious if I should have done all 3 but would not want trips as the dangers involved. Thanks again!
Re: Experiences with ET, 1 great embie and 1 so, so
i think you are wise to only go with 2. Is this your first IVF? If so- then especially wise, since you don't know what your success might be like - and yes, triplets is a whole other set of dangers... not that twins are a piece of cake- but still, less risk.
my boys are clomid/IUI babies - so no real advice on the IVF - just that i think 2 was wise- from what i've seen my friends go through with IVF.
Best of luck to you!!! Hope to see you on SAIF very soon!
When I had my FET I only had 3 embies left & the doc wanted to put them all back in because only one was of good quality (and 8 cell, the other 2 were a 6 & a 5)
The day of the tranfer the 8 cell didn't survive the thaw...and you can see in my siggy what happened with the other 2 :-)
2 was smart. Now do those little embies a favor and LAY DOWN, stay in bed and relax as much as possible for the next 2-3 days if possible.
My 2 cousins and I all did IVF around the same time and all took 2-3 days bedrest afterwards with very little moving around. I Know you will read data to the contrary, but I swear that, and acupuncture I was doing before, during and after helped me get PG. For what its worth - all 3 of us got pregnant! Both cousins w/singletons, and me with twins!! My one cousin transferred 1 good, 1 so-so, other had 1 excellent and 1 good, and I had 2 excellent.
PS: What clinic are you at in Chicago? I just moved from there and did my IVF and Northwestern.
GOOD LUCK!!!
We only got 4 eggs from ET and 1 was not mature. All 3 fertilized. We put two great quality 8 cell embryos in on Day 3. The 3rd was a 10 cell, but RE and the embryologist thought it would make it to freeze and it didn't. I was so worried neither of the ones we tranferred would stick and both did (so far).
Also, the day of my ER the nurse told me they had just had a woman in who only got 1 egg and got BFP!
Thank you all for the advice. I do feel like we did the right thing, but you know at the moment you always question yourself! I am working with Hinsdale Center for Reprod, and they really are amazing. I looked all over for a clinic that was small, intimate and well that knew your name and you were not a number. I can't say enough good things about them. I am glad to hear that you all had success with your experiences and congrats~
Thanks again and I will post on the 18th when I hear if we get our BFP.
