I have one more Kaiser related question for you...did you go to any of the classes that they offer?
We are thinking of the breastfeeding, newborn care, and the preparing for childbirth classes. The prep class is $65. Just wondering if you thought they were worth it. TIA!
You are so welcome! The pump ended up being a good purchase for me, but it could have been an expensive item collecting dust.
We went to all the pregnancy classes (early, mid, late), the breastfeeding class and the taking care of baby class. We did not do the childbirth class (it was $100 here). I do think they were worth it (especially since they are free!). Make sure that your husband goes with you...even to the breastfeeding class. It's his job to remember everything that you learn and I was glad that Jeff got to hear things that I was going through from somebody else. I think it helped him be (a tiny bit) more understanding. Almost everybody had their partners in the classes.
I think I did just fine w/o the childbirth class and just the books I read, etc. The nurses and doctors will help you through it too. I asked on the Nor Cal board if ppl thought the class was worth it and I think most of them said it wasn't much new information. They did like that it taught their husbands how to massage them tho....that might make it worth it
