Please help -- shots, crying

DS had his 2 month checkup (healthy little boy!!! Big Smile )  and he also got his shots.  He screamed, I bawled... anyway, he slept for most of the day.  For the last hour, he's been very fussy.  His cry sounds different.  It isn't a normal Jack cry.  We fed him and I put him in the sling.  I am prepared to stay this way as long as he needs.  We also gave him Tylenol. I am feeling horrible because he's not feeling well.

Could the weird cry be because he's in pain and I've never heard that type before?  I can recognize his different cries - I'm hungry, I'm bored/grumpy, I'm tired, or don't wipe my butt/get me dressed.

This just sucks.  My heart is breaking for him.  I also spilled over a bottle's worth of BM (about 6oz) so I'm really upset over that...

UGH!

  • My LO is kind of shrieking (he got his shot today).  That is when he is awake.  He is still mostly sleeping.  I imagine he is in pain but I'm not sure.

  • Yeah, getting shots is traumatizing. I'm not looking forward to Lily getting hers. Sounds like you've done all you can- just give him extra loving tonight.
  • He probably doesn't feel well.  The shots make his immune system start to work over time.  It stinks but my DD was fine the next day.

I really hope he's happy Jack tomorrow.  My heart is breaking.  I don't know how moms with babies in the NICU or hospital or with health problems do it.  This is torture and it's his freaking 2 month shots which are no big deal.  I need to get a grip!

  • DS was terribly upset the night he got his shots.  I felt bad too, but he still STTN and was fine the next day.  We just had to deal with a few hours of screaming that night.
  • DD was fussy, sleepy, and not quite herself after her shots.
  • Oh man...I'm not looking forward to Katie getting hers.
  • great.  DD gets hers tomorrow.
