Did my water break, or not?

in 3rd Trimester
Was laying on my side and sneezed. There was a huge gush, but I can't tell if it was pee or water. It was really far back and not where I'd think pee would be, plus there was quite a bit of white mucus too. Not sure what to think. Really don't want to drive 45 minutes to the hospital to find out I wet myself.

    Smell it if you can. Amniotic fluid should NOT smell like pee. If you can't smell it just lay down and wait to see if it continues to trickle or gush. If it does....probably your water.

    lay down for 15-20 min, then get up again. if you are still leaking, most likely your water...

    umm...from what I understand, pee smells like pee and the other doesn't....best I can say though...sorry

    Look at the color, the odor, the amount.......if more comes out that was probably your water. Your water can come out a little at a time....it doesn't have to "gush". Healthy amniotic fluid is colorless and odorless.

    smell it... you can tell the difference between pee and water breaking... water breaking is either sweet smelling or doesnt smell... also lay down for 20 minutes with a pad on and then stand up and see if you have anything wet on your pad.

    And it feels like I'm having contractions now too. Going to see if they're close enough to time. DH can home right when the sneeze happened. He's suddenly in nesting mode and finishing stuff in LO's room that I didn't get to. LOL he even mopped the floor, which he's never done in the 4 1/2 years we've been married. Too funny

    WOW!! I hope my DH does the same!! lol  contrax are a good sign that your water probably broke. GL!

    That's too funny. I think guys get a little nervous when labor starts. Mine started doing unusual things too. Or he hovered.

    It didn't smell like anything. Plus, in was wearing dark pink undies so I have no idea what the color was.
