Combining 3d ultrasound with Christmas gift :-)

So even though I have been fortunate to have four ultrasounds (even though two were under unfortunate circumstances,) I still really want to have a 3d one (mostly because I want one last gender confirmation before I get lots of pink stuff for my shower ;-))  Because of the cost, I had a hard time justifying it, but I just found a place in my area that will do a 20 min 3d/4d scan for 99 dollars (the rest are like 150+.)  You don't get a DVD or anything, but I don't need one, so DH and I decided we are going to go for it, and use it as an extra Christmas gift for our parents!  We draw names at Christmas time, so we do not always get a gift for everyone, so this would not be like replacing someone else's gift or anything, but we are going to try to schedule it for shortly after Christmas and invite our parents to enjoy it.  It is the first grandchild for both grandmas, so I know they would love it (my mom came to one of my U/S and was so excited to be there even DD was uncooporative.) Anyone else getting a 3d one soon or have one recently?  I will be about 30 weeks then so I hear it is ideal time.

    we are doing ours on Dec 23, cause the US tech told us to do it as close to 30 weeks as possible, and we are going to do the exact same thing with the christmas gift. I know our parents will be extatic... DH mom was so excited by the 20 week pictures and how much more you could see than her US when she was pregnant. Im sure they will love it.  And if not it isnt like you are replacing a gift anyway.

    I've actually considered getting my mom a 3D ultrasound for Christmas. Since this is her first grandchild and the 20 week u/s is in our doctors office (no audience allowed) it seems like something she would really love. Still not 100% decided on this one though...

    That's a great idea! I've kind of "hinted" to my mom that I'd like one for Christmas/my birthday (in January) but I may now have to "un-hint" so I could give this to them as a gift instead. That way, I'd know for sure that I'd be getting one. I want one for the exact same reason as you...to make sure my little girl is a little girl before I start buying things.

    We get a 3D/4D big ultrasound.  We did for DS as well... I love that my OB has brand new machines =)
