Okay...just got the email that all of the kids in our school will be getting the H1N1 shot OR mist on Wednesday of this week. If it's the mist, I guess it makes me nervous that over 600 kids will be getting that live virus with me around. I mean, what if they cough or sneeze afterwards? Then the live virus if floating around in the air...Granted, probably a small percentage of a chance that I'd get it that way but if I can avoid getting it at all costs, I think it'd be worth it?
Called the dr. abt. and the NP that the nurse talked to said that she cannot technically recommend that I "isolate" myself but that if I feel the need to stay home that I can. No help there. So I said, "You're basically telling me that it's up to me?" and the woman said, "Yes, that's what it sounds like." So ladies....what should I do??? Stay home on that day and the day after to be on the safe side and not risk it or go ahead and go to school??? What do you think? What would you do???
Thanks for your opinions!
Re: WWYD: Help & opinions needed please!!!
Did you get the shot? If not, I don't think a personal day would make you seem like a crazy pg lady.
If you got the shot, well, it's supposed to prevent you catching it right?
this.
I say it's all about your status with the shot. If you had it, and at least 14 days have elapsed, then you should be fine around the little snotnoses cherubs. If not, I would say that isolation is your best bet.

2IF does not always equal 3IF...Surprise!
If you've had your shot, you're fine.
If you haven't, I'd take a shopping day.
I'd take the day off. But then again, I don't really feel guilty for taking days off.
Do you have to use up your sick leave before going out on maternity leave? In our district you have to, or you lose your sick leave (long complicated explanation and process).
Anyhow, I say why risk it. Take the day off, relax, get some Christmas shopping done
