yes- and they need to sleep apart... otherwise it defeats the purpose of having it- since if one stopped breathing it wouldn't sound an alarm b/c the other would keep it from going off.
we LOVE them- well worth the money. We still use one for our almost 3 y/o - and today was a perfect reason why-- he slept in later than he ever has... if I didn't have that monitor i would have checked him a ton of times, thinking something happened to him... but we knew he was fine in there - just sleeping late. SO nice not to have to stress about that when you are trying to sleeep.
