Babies: 0 - 3 Months

First word already? Or am I just a crazy lady...

Barrett says "Mah". He uses it when he wants to get my attention. I refer to myself as "Mama" or "Mummy" with him, DH Calls refers to me either Mama or Mummy...

Barrett also uses it if he's super upset and Daddy is holding him... he'll cry

"MAhhhhhhhhhh... MAhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Then settles when I take him.

Now it's not Neh. He definitively uses Neh when he's hungry or wants the boob.

Could he have already picked up his first word???

Or am I just a crazy lady? :P

  • I don't know. I think you can't really claim first words until it's obvious to you that he knows he's referring to you. From what you said, though, maybe he does??  Either way, that's super- cute!
  • Check out Dunstan Baby Language. There are 5 (? i think) sounds all babies all languages will make.. If I remember correctly from watching the video w/ DD1, Neh = hungry.. I think.. if you google it it'll tell you. I think after a few months, this early "language" goes away but it's a huge tool in helping understand your NBs cries and it helped us a lot w/ DD1.

    this exactly
  • I think you should totally claim it! I was claiming smiles when he was a week old! I didn't care if he was farting at me! HE SMILED!

DS babbles a ton too, but I was speaking in full sentences at 12 months. Seriously! My parents have video of me talking to my mom! so I figure DS will do things early

  • Thanks Ladies! :P

Crazy lady or not, it's stinkin' cute and eerie when he does it! :P

I've followed the dunstan baby language, he does all of them to a Tee.. which is why we wondered about this one, since he seems so clear about saying it.. lol

Babbling babbling. :P Ah well.. I can pretend! :D
