issue 5 weeks after circumcision

DS was circumcised at the hospital. It healed fined and has given us/him no problem since he was a week old. Now at 5+ weeks, there is a red ring around his "peter" and the skin at the end (before the head) has an odd look to it. The best way I can describe it is that it looks loose, like a balloon that was blown up and then the air was released.

I was going to watch it for a day or so because I wasn't sure that there really was anything unusual about the way it looks. But DH says that it isn't normal (and I believe him) so DS is going to the doctor this afternoon. DH is concerned because his circumcision resulted in an infection. Though I'm not sure if it makes a difference that he was 13 at the time, not an infant.

Anyone else have issues with the circumcision this long after the procedure? Or do you think this isn't related? Any other thoughts on what could be the issue?

hmm not sure, hopefully the doc can tell you? I know that with our LO's circ we had to keep separating the foreskin from the head of the penis because it would "stick" and after about 2 weeks it was fine. DH was the one to mess with it because he knew what it was "supposed" to look like....

My cousins son's had a similar issue and they waited a few days and finally decided to take him to the Pedi, he ended up having to get re-circumcised.

Hopefully this isn't the case for you.

my DS doesn't look like he was even circ. anymore. We went to the doc and he said it was normal, but i'm not so sure he knows what he is talking about.
