Postpartum Depression

Do you think it could be my bc?

I was on one bc after my 6wk pp check-up, then I switched to a differenct bc because I don't have insurance and it's what the nurse recommended and said it was the closest thing she had to the the other kind I was on. SO my point is...I was on 1 bc for 3 months (which is what I had been on for a number of yrs previous) and now I have been on a different bc for 2 months. I am wondering if the new bc could be causing my depression sx?? Anyone have any thoughts?

Re: Do you think it could be my bc?

  • Could be. That happened to me in college...it was one of the low estrogen ones that triggered it.  I would switch if you think it might be a factor at all. Or better yet, get off of hormonal bc. I got the paraguard for that reason.

  • Definitely possible, the only way to really know is to stop bc, next best thing would be to switch...

  • It is a low estrogen bc so I think I'm going to call my Dr and stop taking this pill. I have an appt with a counselor next wk...so I guess I will let them know about that.
