PG Books for DH/"daddy"

I ordered the My Boys Can Swim book for DH the other night. I've heard some good and bad things about it. But I'm hoping it is something DH will actually read. I just want him to know SOMETHING about what is going on, but I know he won't touch a girly pg book.

Anyone else thought about getting/got DH a book?

Re: PG Books for DH/"daddy"

  • I got DH "DadLabs" and he loves it.

  • My Boys Can Swim is short and sweet but not super helpful. We got 'The Expectant Father' and DH reads it every night before bed. it's so cute!

  • Dh likes to read What to Expect each week with me.  And I got him a "new dad's" book called "Be Prepared". It's not really pg but more after the baby is born.  It is HILARIOUS. He loves reading it.  I completely recommend it because it's got a lot of really good info, but written from a man's point of view.  Very funny, which keeps him interested in it (before he was freaking out because he's never even changed a diaper before)
  • The Dudes' Guide to Pregnancy (or the end of your life as you know it)

It's pretty hysterical and gives him just enough insight that he'll then ask me questions.

Its funny and very informative. Also has real life other mom/dad inserts in there. My DH thinks its a good book and he's incredibly hard to buy books for as he's very picky. I actually prefer it over my other book because it doesn't read like a boring med book with all of the info and then some!!

Its a bunch of real Dads and Dads-to-be talking about their fears/hopes/everything. I'm thinking about getting this for DH.

     Ditto!

  • my DH read "Your Pregnancy for the Father-to-Be".  it goes w/ the your pregnancy week by week, but much shorter.  he definitely learned a lot and from then on was much more sympathetic to my pregnancy!
