Headaches and M/S

When did it go away for you? I keep throwing up and get a pretty bad headache most nights. Nights are also worse for my m/s, but I pretty much feel sick all day.

Everyone keeps telling me its worse b/c I am having twins, so I just wanted to see if anyone else had this or is still suffering from it.  I understand everyone is different - but are the twins really causing me to feel THIS bad?

I do take tylenol from time to time. I took some tonight, but I just puked - and of course have no idea if I puked the tylenol out or not. ugh!

 Thanks girls.

Re: Headaches and M/S

  • I never really had m/s, but the headaches still have not gone away although they are not as intense or as frequent as they were.  Hang in there, it will get better.

  • they say m/s can be worse with twins -- but it's all relative.  I hardly had any m/s with my singleton - and had MORE with my twins, but it still was hardly anything compared to what other people have.

i did get bad migraines. talk to your OB - there are Rx meds you can take that work much better than Tylenol.   Also- if your BP is fairly low- you might need more salt and caffiene in your diet - that happened to me - I was having dizzy spells and migraines - my BP was low - i added in some caffiene and more salt- and things were much better.

Excedrine tension headache is good- it's just tylenol + caffiene... i used to take one every mornging to help prevent migraines- it worked well.

    feel better!

  • I threw up through my entire pregnancy - several times a day.

Here is what worked for me.  In the morning I had to have something sweet to drink.  Cranberry juice, apple juice - whatever - it had to be sweet and cold.

I would also hold off brushing my teeth until mid-morning/afternoon - because brushing me teeth first thing in the morning - always brought it on.

I would also eat several small meals and tried to make sure I was never hungry/had an empty belly.

Peanut butter became my best friend.  I ate it a lot.  I also could eat baked potatoes with butter on them - they helped.

I kept a pretty bland diet and just would eat what I felt I could eat.  I also tried to stay away from mixing hot & cold.  Example: hot soup & cold water.  I would through that up in a minute.

Believe it or not - ginger is supposed to help and I could eat it with my DD - but not with the boys.

With regards to your headaches - I suffer from migraines - have forever.  I took pain medication for my headaches.  It was prescribe via my OB - so it was safe for the baby.  A lot of nights I took Tylenol PM to help with the pain and to sleep if I didn't take my pain meds.

Take to your OB - they might be able to give you something.  As a side note - I called my PCP doctor prior to calling my OB and talked to him in length about my headaches.  He said he didn't want to treat me first - he wanted OB to look me over first and make sure everything was okay.  This helped because when I spoke to the OB - the first wanted to bounce me back to my PCP.  I explained that he wanted them to treat me first.

In a pinch tylenol followed by something with caffene will get it through your system.

  • Thanks girls. I appreciate all your suggestions. I will def. be speaking with my doctor. :-)
