My dd just started daycare on Monday and when I pick her up everyday they have the tv on, she is only 3 months old, there is no reason a child under 2 should be watching tv. They put her in a bouncy seat at the beginning of the day as the kids are arriving and when I pick her up she is always in a swing or bouncy seat. This morning as soon as they put her into it she cried. My dh was so upset that he asked me if I want to quit work!
I have this horrible feeling in my gut that they do nothing with her all day. While I was home with her I always had her doing something, tummy time, playing on the play mat, reading to her or just talking and singing to her. I realize they are not going to take care of her the way I would but if I wanted her in a bouncy seat in front of the tv I would leave her with my dumb MIL, there is a reason why she isn't there.
Sorry but I really NEEDED to vent, can anyone rec a good day care center?
Re: Unhappy with my daycare provider, any recs in S.Philly, Bella Vista or CC area?
Not a daycare center, but I know a local mom (she lives in S. Philly) that is looking to nanny / in-home daycare. I'll tell her to check in here in case you're interested.
ps - based on your description, I'd be pretty unhappy too. Sorry!
Thanks, RobynScott for the rec.
Yes, I provide nanny/childcare services in my home. I live in the S. Philly area and would be more then happy to speak with you further. There is no reason your 3 month old (or any age child) should not be getting care similar to what you yourself would provide. If you would like my references, resume, etc please PM. Regardless I hope you find a childcare situation that works well for you and your family
Sorry about your experience! I live in CC and I'm having a tough time finding a daycare that takes 3- month olds. There are only a handful of them in the area I'm looking at (rittenhouse, fitler square, swcc).
Good luck!
FYI-
I know soyaddict and I have to tell you if she were closer to me I would definitely use her.
Good luck!
