Yeouch! Sore butt from progresterone. Help?

Getting my FET this Thursday, so started progresterone shots last night. This morning, my butt was hurting and boy, oh boy..it's sore!!!

 For those of you guys who have been through this, what helps with the soreness? Any tip on how "not" to make it sore?

    I don't think there is any way to completely avoid the soreness but a heating pad for 10-15 minutes afterwards helps a lot.  The progesterone is oil based to it doesn't penetrate easily.  The heating pad helps disperse the medication into your skin better.

    I use ice to numb the spot beforehand - that way I cannot even feel the shot going in - then after my DH gives me the shot - he massages the area and then I lay on a heating pad for about 10 mins - I really never have any pain.  Good Luck.

    Heating pad helps a lot. I've also heard people say it's better to do it in the morning, so that the day' activity disperses the oil. I don't do it that way, but it's something you might consider.
