Pack 'n Play Help

So we bought the Graco PNP Hamilton which comes with a newborn napper and change table.  We plan on using the PNP as our bassinet throughout the night.  Are you supposed to use the napper as the bassinet or the area underneath the napper and bassinet.  The newborn napper just seems too fluffly/soft.  Sorry I am clueless about this one.

 Thanks!

Re: Pack 'n Play Help

  • I am going to use the napper throughout the night.  In the beginning, there isn't much difference between a nap and night time sleeping.

  • They pretty much only 'nap' as newborns, I"m sure the napper part is fine for overnight.

  • I've heard you're not supposed to use the napper overnight, because of how soft it is and suffocation reasons. However, if LO is on their back or swaddled so they can't move, I don't see the problem. I'll probably see which on LO likes better and just use that!

  • Good question- I have no idea what I'll do. I suppose I'll wait and see where baby likes to sleep best.
  • We were told in our baby basics class that the nappers aren't safe because of how soft and fluffy they are - that they could turn their head to the side and suffocate.  But then again.... it seems everything is considered unsafe!
