I give up - pictures

On Saturday we tried to take a picture for the Christmas card.  We tried in the morning and then again at night hoping they'd be more cooperative.  We took at least 300 pictures.  One was trying to crawl away at all times.  Sad part is that my son isn't smiling in the only picture that was acceptable.  We had tons of smiling pics of him but in those my daughter was either blurry from moving or in the process of crawling away.

Next year we're sending everyone a picture of the cat, it's easier.

  • HaHa. My LOs are eating each other in all of our failed attempts to take a Christmas picture. Then I finally thought that I found a good one and realized that one is inadvertently giving the camera the finger. We are going to use that one.

  • We wrapped a big box and put our girls (about 9 months) inside in front of the tree.  It was still hard to get a good pic of them but at least they weren't on the move!   I always dread taking pictures for the christmas card... it can be so stressful!

  • I so feel your pain and thank goodness for digital cameras!  I tried to get some on Saturday (DH was at work) and it was a miserable fail.  We all just wound up fussy and grumpy.  However, we did some more on Sunday and had a little luck.  I actually posted about my frustration on Saturday (https://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/27170076.aspx) and the main suggestion I got was to try for a card with two pictures and do each child individually.  I wound up with a design with three pictures so we have one that is ok of the both of them and then a good one of both DDs.  Good luck!

  • All of my siblings get together before Christmas and take a pic of all the grandkids together for parents/grandparents etc. A couple years ago they got a good shot of 6 out of 7 kids, but couldn't get all seven. So my parents get a picture with 7 happy children, one whose head looks slightly larger than it should be. Turns out, my SIL had cropped and pasted a happy looking Jacob over his face in the original pic with 6 of 7 kids looking happy. It is the funniest picture, I don't recommend it, but I appreciated her effort.
