Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know my angels arrived last Sunday via c-section at 36 weeks, 5 days. I was scheduled for 38 weeks and went into labor on my own at about 5:30 a.m. on the 29th. What I thought were stomach cramps from an evening out at a nice restaurant ended up being contractions which increased in frequency and pain. I didn't have relief from the contstant nausea that accompanied my contractions until the spinal went in. The c-section was routine, uncomplicated and easier than I thought. Recovery has been good, I was up and walking the next day and every day it gets better. I was scared to look "down there" for about 2 days but my incision looks fine and every nurse commented on how good it looked, it's just a straight line with no redness or irritation.
The babies are adorable, although they still have their nights and days mixed up! They each have their own personality and its incredible to see how they gravitate toward each other and have their own way of communicating through grunts and moans. My little girl was 5 pounds and my little boy was 5 lbs 13 oz. My goal was at least 5 pounds each so I was thrilled to have gotten there!
