Has everyone seen this? I haven't been there in a while...so this may be old news. I think it was called SoHo Baby (??) and they have the higher end strollers and I saw a few highchairs. I was carrying DH's Wii and Wii fit and the bags were like 100lbs (I'm lucky I didn't give birth on the way out to my car) so I didn't go in....but I saw a bunch of brands that people have talked about on the boards but I haven't seen in person.
I want to go in and take a look at the city mini double...but maybe after Xmas : )
Oh - it's by the elevator on the lower level.
Re: New Stroller store at Galleria
I don't go to the galleria often so I don't know about this baby store. I might have to stop in sometime and check it out.
If you are interested in the City Mini you can check them out at Whites on Kenmore Ave. They have them in store. We just bought out single there.
How did I not know about this store????? I am totally dragging DS and DH there tomorrow evening!
I agree with the PP about White's. I was really impressed with their selection of double strollers and their prices! They had the City Mini double and the only reason we didn't get it from them was I am having issues committing to a double stroller (I just want to make sure it's the right one).
I have done SO much research and I think we are leaning toward the City Mini. My sister has the double and loves it, but my brother has the Phil & Ted's sport with the jump seat and loves that. It's making my decision tough!
I am leaning towards a tandem as opposed to a side by side. It's a difficult decision!! I don't think the mini takes a carseat...so we would need something else until DD can sit in a stroller by herself.
Plus, I have a real issue with paying $400 for a stroller. And a MUST for us a snack tray - which you have to buy extra...so tack on another $40. Another one of my musts is a canopy that detaches in the back so that you can really block the sun if it is very low. Most of our walks are in the eve after DH gets home...so a normal umbrella that only comes over so far won't work.
There is a carseat adapter for the mini; my sister bought it and is able to use her graco snug ride infant seat for her younger son with the stroller.
I am having issues with the price thing, too. We use our single stroller so much with DS and it is showing some wear (a graco metrolite). I figure we'll be using the double stroller for at least 2.5 years, so it's worth the investment to buy something decent. Plus, the less expensive strollers seem so bulky and heavy.
The canopy on the mini is awesome. It comes down really far.
I like the size, weight and compactness of the mini but I really like that you can take the jump seat off of the Phil & Ted's and have a single if you need it.
My DH thinks I am crazy because I am stressing so much about this decision!
The canopy did seem to come down far - but we would open the top so that DS could look up at the trees...I guess I think what is the sense of a walk if we have to have both canopies all the way down and they are just looking at canvas and their own feet. It's probably something only we noticed because of how nice it was to walk while the sun was very, very low...since that is what we always do.
Does the carseat adapter come with it? Or is it extra?
We have a graco metrolite now too - and the basket has holes in it. So I'm not in a hurry to buy another one of those I don't think. I totally agree with a good stroller being worth the investment - but I am too nervous to commit to it and wishing I had a tandem (or vice versa). I have a great DH that doesn't mind spending the $ on something if I present it in a certain way - safety first! But if we buy a $400+ stroller - that will be the last! : )
I think that store has Phil & Teds too...so I may have to take a look in there.
Have you looked at any Sit-n-Stands? I'm not counting on DS wanting to be strapped in as long as your LO...he can barely stand it now!! So there's another issue altogether!
