A rash? Hives? PIP

What do you think this is? DS always has dry, sorta bumpy skin on his legs and tummy but tonight it looks really bad.He had the PC vaccine on Friday but I don't know if it's related... I'm going to call the doctor first thing tomorrow as well but wanted to get some bumpie insight! TIA

Re: A rash? Hives? PIP

  • I took E in to the pedi once b/c she had a rash that was small little red dots. The pedi told me that I shouldn't be concerned that it was a heat rash. I asked her how I would know if it was a milk allergy and she said it would be in big round-ish patches all over ... kind of like what I think I see in that pic ... good luck.

  • My toddler has had something like that... and one pedi said allergies, another said viral.  Last time I gave her Benedryl and it cleared up, so for her it was allergy.  Maybe he is allergic to something in the vaccine?  Any change in soap or detergent?  Your DC is too young for benedryl, but I might ask if that's a possibility.  My DD complains of "itchy"- is he scratching?

  • It almost looks like a little bit of eczema to me but it could be from shots. I would give a little bit of Tylenol (in case it is a reaction) and rub some Aquaphore or Eucerin on it to see if that helps.

Hmm...no, not scratching but he's been really fussy and not sleeping or eating well which I chalked up to teething and growth spurt but could be the vaccine...I'll check on the ingredients again thanks
