anybody use bare minerals?

im thinking about asking for it for xmas..i don't wear much makeup at all..but sometimes i like to look nice, like when i go to the pedi, since that is about the only time i leave the house anymore, haha

when i use foundation, i like it to be light, like i usually just get tinted moisturizer...

if you have tried this stuff did you like it?

Re: anybody use bare minerals?

  • I also use very light foundation if any or a tinted moisturizer. I tried bare minerals but I have very dry skin and it ended up making me look flaky! The only way I can wear it is to do a layer of moisturizer then one of foundation then use it as a powder which sort of defeats the purpose. So instead I talked to the makeup ladies and found a foundation that is super light and hydrating. Whenever I wear people are like oh you most of slept well last night.

My sister swears by bare minerals her skin tends to run more oily and on her it can be used without anything and looks great!

  • i use it and REALLY like it. i don't wear makeup very often but when i get dressed up i use the bare minerals as foundation. i love that it makes my complexion look so good, but without heavy foundation that shows.

when i first got it i bought a kit at target that had some smaller sizes of the powders and a purse sized kabuki brush. that fully got me hooked!

  • I love it and I have yucky skin so it makes me look so much better.  I dont' wear it all the time, just went I want a little mood picker upper so I dont' go through much of it.

  • I cannot say enough about it, I have not used any other makeup in 3 years!! You can apply very very lightly.
  • I use it and really like it...I really need to use it more often :)
  • I use fairly light foundation and I like it. I have mild rosasea and it covers it up nicely. It gives you nice coverage, although it's messy and it's not something like a compact like can be applied in less than a minute and in the car (which I used to do!!)

  • I also have drier skin, but BM is great for me! I love it, i use it for every day. I NEVER leave the house without makeup, foundation, eye liner, mascara...WHen I am getting dressed up, though, I use Bobbi Brown foundation

I always moisurize right after the shower and then after I am dried off and dressed, I do make up, so perhaps that is why I do well with it, regardless of dry skin. the other thing I have heard for flakiness is to use less

  • I love it!  I have bad skin so it covers blemishes without being heavy.  It makes you feel like you aren't wearing makeup at all and doesn't clog your pores.  Also, it matches your skin tone better than a regular foundation, in my opinion.

  • My SIL loves it but I've never tried it. I've wanted to, though.
  • I love it!  I also have rosacea and BM works great for me.  It prevents breakouts and covers the redness.
  • Love it! I've converted so many people to it. Love the eyeshadows too. I still have the first eye colors I bought back in well it's been a long time and they are not even close to being gone. The Warmth and Glee (all over face color I use as blush) last a very long time too!

  • Another rave here.  I tend towards dry skin also but because I use a moisturizer plus a second layer of sun screen on my face it works out fine.  If I skip a layer of moisturizer though I can tell.  I love the bare minerals foundation, warmth, and that translucent buffing powder whose name I cannot recall at the moment.  The eye shadows I use because they are easy but I don't love them quite as much.  Same with blush.  I use the BM but I prefer Nars.

  • I love it too.  I've been using it for about two years and am hooked.  I have skin that tends toward dry and it is just fine for me.  I use ponds moisturizer (oddly it's the only one i like!) and I use a stick concealer for under my eyes or blemishes.  But I use BM foundation and blush, and eyeshadows and lip glosses.  The eyeshadows are addictive - there are so many neat colors and tones and they last all day - much better than any other I've used.  You can also custom blend, or apply them wet for a more dramatic look.  I never even knew that I was a make-up kind of gal until I started wearing it.  Love it!

  • It looked awful on me.  Made me look pasty and weird.  I am probably the only person in the world who hated it though.
