old wives tales to induce labor

Does anyone know old wives tales to induce labor that actually work? The only thing I won't do is drink castor oil

Re: old wives tales to induce labor

  • Sex.  Sex is the only one.  Unless, of course, you are me, then it doesn't work.  lol

  • Eggplant Parmesan maybe?
  • Oh and I heard there are some massage/acupressure points that can be done to induce labor.
  • I've heard the best ones of sex, walking, and acupressure
  • I've heard that eating grapes brings on labor.  Something about a chemical in the grapes that brings on labor.  It sounds kind of silly and is probably untrue, but I recommended grapes to a girlfriend who was past 40 weeks and about 20 hours after she ate those grapes, she had her daughter!  Coincidence?  Hmmm... Hmm

  • I'm with the nothing. I've tried everything (save for castor oil, yick) and it hasn't done squat. If they're not ready they're not ready.
