I am at a loss as to what to do, maybe some of you ladies can help me decide. Here's the background -
A couple of weeks ago I attempted to stop swaddling DD to sleep. At first she did pretty well. Then she got progressively worse, which is odd, you'd think it'd be the opposite, right?
But no, lately I put her down in the sleep sack and she will not stay down (I bounce her and put her back about 5 times before I give up and swaddle her.) Once swaddled, she (basically) sleeps through the night.
She can roll now, (only back to tummy, not tummy to back) and I am worried that she could possibly roll in the swaddle-me, which is very tight on her arms, but loose on the legs. When she rolls she uses her legs much more than her arms.
Here is the question -
Should I use a sleep positioner to help her learn to sleep unswaddled? I have heard of moms doing this on this board.
Or
Should I use a sleep positioner with her in the swaddle to keep her from rolling until she's ready to be unswaddled? Has anyone done this?
Or
Should I not use a sleep positioner at all? I never have, it makes me nervous, but I don't know what to do here.

Re: I need advice re: sleep positioners/swaddle
Thanks ladies, I was just talking to DH and we agreed to nix the sleep positioner idea.
As for the deswaddling, we are just going to keep at it and try it first every night.
Grins, we give her about an hour of up and down (no sleep at all) before we give up and swaddle her.
Every 15 minutes, you are a trooper, lol. We'll see if it comes to that!
