I have a ton of the newborn 2 oz bottles from DD and they worked great for the NB stage. I'd like to use them again (we got them all free from the hospital) but I would have no idea where to buy the nipples. They're the NICU type bottles I guess, that's what they told us. Anyway, can I just sterilize and reuse the nipples that DD used? I have a couple (like maybe 3) that were never used and are still in packaging. Plus if I can reuse them I'd save a bunch of $ :-)
Re: Can I reuse nipples?
I REALLY hate buying new stuff so I just make sure things are super clean and reuse.
I know latex breaks down over time, but I wasn't sure how much time. I'd hate to toss them all (and the bottles) b/c I can't get new nipples for them.
Yes. It is my understanding (at least when we used latex nipples, before we had to avoid latex anything all together) that you should only boil latex the initial time. After that it should be handwashed--no dishwasher, no boiling. It's been over a year since I've used a bottle though, so I could be way off
