I've heard of some moms skipping pull-ups and P/Ting in undies only (putting them on the potty all the time and just dealing with accidents). Has anyone done this, or have you all gone the pull ups route?
i did with my DD, i was home with her all the time so every 15 mins i took her to the bathroom & made her sit there for 3 mins. most of the time she would go. We had about 4 accidents the first day 3 pee & 1 BM. second & third day only 2 both, Bm & by day 4 she was going on the potty for both. she only wore a diaper to bed for the first 2 nights & those 2 night she woke up in the mid of the night to go to the bathroom.
We really didn't use pull-ups either. My mom gave me 2 packs and I didn't even use all of them. We used diapers and underwear. If I didn't have the packs I probably could have done w/o them.
We only use pullups for naptime and bedtime. Our day care provider seems to think they need to be in underwear so they feel wet when they have accidents.
We have LOTS of underwear, needless to say! And we do lots of laundry.
When Tyler was PT, if he was wearing anything (diaper/pull-up/undies/training undies) he would pee in them almost immediately - I think because they all just felt like a diaper to him. Our solution was to go bottomless at home as much as possible. Even now, he never wears undies under his clothes and pull-ups only for naps and bedtime, which I forsee lasting much longer than I care for. When PT, the undies were difficult for him to get off/on so we haven't yet bothered with 'em.
Maybe try spending a bottomless weekend day at home to see how that works for him. GL!

Hmmmm....I think that's a great idea! We tried undies last week, and he'd pee in them immediately. We went through like 6 pairs in one morning before I gave up. He'll be home from school for almost 3 weeks this Christmas and I'm really hoping to get the job done during that time. Naked time might be the way to go! And assuming it all works out, I'm really hoping wishfully to get the little one PTd next summer when he turns 2 and be done with diapers.
I never used pull ups, honestly they seemed like a PITA. If they did have an accident (esp. #2), it was a huge mess trying to get it off. So, we never used them. Went straight into big boy underwear. Yes, we have had some accidents but Shout and a run through the wash and all is well (well, most of them).
