So on monday I will be full term. This is of course number two, and I feel like I haven't prepared at all for this one.
No classes,
no hospital bag,
no birth plan,
no baptism date set,
no nursery work (although it is done bc dd vacated it)
no washed clothes, or sheets
no diapers in newborn size at the house
no NAMES! (we do have some ideas, just haven't settled on anything)
Anyone else feeling like there are a million things to do and yet haven't done anything?
Re: Am I the biggest procrastinator out there?
We have all the furniture, except the crib. I'm freaking out, because I'm 32 weeks..we do have a bassinet though.
We also have NO diapers/wipes, no hospital bag, no birth plan, and we're not taking any classes.
There are a ton of things
Well, to be fair some of the things on your list aren't that big of a deal. Classes aren't really necessary if you have been through it before, your nursery is already done without your help, and I didn't even know you could schedule the baptism before baby is born (I've always waited until after to call and set it up). And since you have name ideas you can wait until you see him or her and decide then.
Of course, I'd probably get that bag packed, at least one box of diapers in the house, and some sheets washed.
As for the birth plan I guess to each their own but there doesn't seem to be much point to me. Of course, my plan is drugs and whatever the doctor recommends.
I hear you though. I was ultra organized with number 1. Number 2 not so much. With this one he's going to be lucky if I remember to even take pictures... lol.
Eh, I've been "behind" by Bump standards the whole pregnancy. It will work out.
I was the same with my second, except for washed clothes and sheets and we did have a name.
I never, ever got the sense of packing a hospital bag in advance. I packed both times while in labour, gave me something to do to take my mind off things.
Don't worry about any of it. You can always give your DH a honeydo list while you are in the hospital!
I seriously doubt it. Most of this stuff can prob. be taken care of afterwards anyway. You know many are superstitious about buying things in advance.
-The classes we took were a waste of time.
-I have a hospital bag. I have only recently started to put things in it though and I have induction date set for Monday night or Tues. morning.
-I don't need a birth plan I'm not asking for anything special just give me the dmn epidural!
-Not religious. Not planning to baptize. Although I'm not familiar with your religion I'm not sure why this would need to be scheduled before the baby is even born!
-Nursery work? Do you have something for baby to sleep in? If so, I think you are fine.
-Ok this won't take long: with little tiny clothes you can fit a lot in the wash.
-We haven't bought any diapers. People bought some for us which is nice but I also hear that hospitals will usually give you some and Meijers and Walmarts tend to sell them 24x7.
-I would not be settled except my DH said "No this is his name and thats final." Its a name I like and even suggested so I felt like he's right I should just quite being a commitment-phobe about it.
I felt just the same about two weeks ago and then I just realized that very few things on my to-do list really have to be done. I wrote them down, prioritized and decided that the rest don't matter. Its very liberating. Try it.
I'm only 30 weeks, but have just about nothing done either.
We are currently looking for a new house (to rent) in town, as right now we are in the country and it won't be fun to try to get out in the snow and ice with a baby in tow.
So, no crib even purchased yet, but do have a bassinet.
Have taken 1 class, and it was pointless. Are taking 2 more, and am not expecting much, but you've done this once before, so I wouldn't take them anyways.
No hospital bag yet
Birth plan thought of, but not written out for the dr. and nurses.
No baptism date yet, although we have been telling the Godparents to let us know if there is a date they know for sure they can or can't make it.
Current 'nursery' still has storage stuff in it, along with all the baby stuff we've already gotten. Again, hoping to move in the next month or so, and see no point in setting up a nursery to have to move it!
No clothing washed... am getting the bedding at our shower in January, so that's not washed either obviously.
We do have diapers, but those won't last us long!
We do have our name picked out.
However, I feel like I should be getting more stressed about getting everything done, but I guess I just figure babies only need to come home to so much, the rest can be taken care of as we go along.
