He cluster feeds at night and sometimes first thing in the morning -- and she keeps telling me he's not hungry and needs a "binky." And she constantly calls into the nursery, "are you STILL nursing him?" Arrrgh. He has tongue tie and is a little slow at the breast and I really want to get his breastfeeding and my supply well established before giving him a pacifier. I also feel no need for a pacifier right now -- he's an easy baby and doesn't cry unless he needs something.
She has also decided I have postpartum depression. Apparently my main symptom of PPD is that I am not taking the baby out to restaurants yet.
Thankfully, this is a short visit. "In one ear out the other" is sure easier said than done.
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
Re: My MIL won't stop telling me to give LO a pacifier (random vent)
Everytime I see these posts I love my MIL a little more!!!!
Now, my mother with her constant phone calls about how she read an article and I should only have 100 extra calories a day in the first trimester so please make sure I'm not eating too much, THAT can stop anytime!!
Girl, she'll be out of your hair soon enough. . . well, maybe not soon enough, but soon!
W is still really young and as long as you are comfortable with how he's nursing, then she needs to back off!
What a moron...hope she goes the heck home SOON!
Good for you for standing your ground...
BTW, my pedi doesn't want Caroline in ANY public places until she is at least 6 weeks, and then has asked that I be 'conservative' about it until flu season is done. PPD my ass, lol...
