My FIL almost broke my glider :(

I was sitting in my glider this morning and it was making a creaking sound and I thought this thing is brand new, it shouldn't be doing this. So I made my DH come in and listen and he goes on to tell me how his dad decided to sit his big butt on it on Thanksgiving (his dad must weight 300 lbs and the chair has a weight limit of 250 lbs) but he couldn't fit in the chair so he just sat on the end and by the time my DH realized what he had done the chair was starting to make the sound like it couldn't support his weight so he made him get up. It really irks me that he would even try to sit in it when he can't fit between the arm rests! Now I have a creaky glider and I hope some WD40 will do the trick. Crying

check the warranty or see if you can get some replacement parts?

Oooooh, that sucks! We had one that was metal instead of wood and it made a horrible squeaky sound. We WD40'd the heck out of it to no avail. Eventually it went into a garage sale!
