bleeding patterns after D&C

Hi everyone -- this is my 1st D&C (2nd loss) and just wanted to know how long you bled after a D&C. I had NO bleeding for the 1st 3 days post D&C, didn't even need a pad, and now I am bleeding pretty heavily. Not enough to be concerned, but just curious if this happened to other people. How long should I expect to bleed now?

I'm so sorry for your losses.

I'm 2.5 weeks after my d&c now and I'm still bleeding. It was constant dark spotting for about 10 afterward, then faded, and now has returned as super dark (like almost purple-brown) spotting.

My doc did an u/s at my follow up appt and told me there was fluid in there as a result of the procedure and that was causing the spotting (she also said that's totally normal). She told me I could potentially spot all through this "cycle" until my period.

How heavy is your bleeding? I had my D&C Tuesday, and Tues, Weds, Thurs I could've gone without a pad, I only had a little pink-brown spotting when I wiped. Friday I started bleeding to the point where I not only needed to wear a pad, I needed to change it about every 4-6 hours, and it was bright red. I called my doctor's office, and they said that's normal with increased activity - yesterday was the 1st day I left the house after my d&c, I did some Christmas shopping,etc. Are you doing more than you did the last few days? I'd call your doctor anyway just to let them know, but like I said, I had (I think) the same bleeding pattern as you and my doc wasn't concerned.

I'm sorry for your losses.

I bled for 3 days, then spotted for another 7, bled for another day, then spotted for 3 more.

i'm so sorry for your loss. i bled pretty heavily for a couple of days after, but then it turned into spotting for about a week and a half after that. my doctor said that the spotting was due to some leftover blood (sorry tmi) and that it would just drain. hope all goes well.

My bleeding stopped pretty quickly after the d&c (I think the next day or two it was down to hardly anything). Over the weekend I started spotting more, so I called the doctor's office this morning. The nurse said that it's normal to bleed more as activity is increased and that it should start to taper off again. Hope this helps!
