We hung a black sheet, put it in an area that would be side-lit heavily and just a lamp in front, set the camera to no flash, and turned the string on and let her play .

Huh? Why?

Make sure to get the ones with extra lead in them LOL

Here is mine...I didn't intend for them to end up in her mouth, but right as this one took she did (and it isn't the bulb, but the cord in her mouth). Just an FYI...I wasn't feeding my child light bulbs!

I imagine she can't post pics of her DD b/c she's being fostered. Which is a stupid rule b/c I'm dying to see her!

I have one in my siggy. I was taking a few pics and decided to throw a white blanket on a chair and get them holding the lights. I wish I would have put more time into it because I could have really gotten a good Christmas card picture! (The one in my siggy is kinda blurry so not Christmas card worthy.)

How did you all get the lighting right?

I took some the other day and they were all either too dark or overexposed because I used the flash

Have some light in the room -- natural light is best -- and turn the flash off.
