My friends from work threw me a sprinkle yesterday. We had an awesome time. I am pregnant with twins. Well, it was suggested by one of my friends to register for a few things I needed. So I did at BRU. I had about 5-6 things listed. Well, I don't want to sound ungreatful but the items I recieved yesterday were not exactly what I needed or wanted. They didn't go to BRU but instead went to Target. The girls tried to get the things that were similar to the items on my registry but it's not the same. They did not include the reciept and from what I have heard Target has a horrible return policy. What should I do? We are talking like 11-12 items. What can Target do? If I have to ask for the reciept how do I properly do that without hurting anyones feelings? I really appreciate everything they have done but would much rather return the items and get the correct ones off my registry.
Re: Shower question
This is what I've heard...go to Target online and register for the items you received, then I think you will be able to return without a reciept....I think.
good idea! and yes, Target has the WORST return policy which is why we did not register there. see if you can do that. otherwise, do what you think is best. if you really feel like you need to ask for receipts back then do so. i know that as a gift giver i might feel a little offended at the moment but would understand that it was just not want that person needed. good luck!
This is exactly what I was thinking.
Our family blog
They have a ROUGH exchange / return policy that's changed a few times in recent years. You'd think when it's their own brand and certainly from that store you could at least get store credit... but it's just not that easy at Target.
My own person worst experience was a time just days after Christmas when I was told if I showed my driver's license 3 items per person per year can be exchanged for store credit. Each store credit value had a maximum of $20, no matter how much the item actually costs (imagine Dyson here). Also the store credit had to be used within the same department. So there we were trying to return a board game b/c someone accidentally got us the "jr" version. We had to spend nearly $20 on another game or toy and we didn't have any children. It was ridiculous.
I suggest creating a registry and then going back with the registry and your returns. I'm not sure this will work, but I think it's your best bet.
I should add I do enjoy shopping at Target, but my purchasing was way down there b/c I was always afraid I might want to return something and not be able to. Then I learned that they have "credit card look up" for returns. Now I just always make sure to use the same card every time I shop there so that if I need to return something I just need my card, not the receipt.
