Toddlers: 24 Months+

Does your child hide things?

Dh got dd a package of 6 little cars. She was so excited about them, "My cars my cars" all day and for days afterwards.

She was stuffing them in things, like her shoe and piling and unpiling them. Now we can't find them, we can't even mention the words with out a frantic and seemingly useless search for the missing cars. Where oh where did they go? It's been days and they still haven't turned up.

Re: Does your child hide things?

  • When my DD was 7 and DS was 3, I got them both Crocs for the summer.

Shortly after, my kids and I were in Hallmark, where they had Jibbitz up at the counter.  Both kids went into "Ooh, Ooh, Mommy, pleeeeeeze!"  I was rolling my eyes at the insane price tag for a tiny piece of plastic, but went ahead and let each kid pick just one.

Within hours of me buying them, I noticed that DS's was missing.  "Where's your Jibbit?" I asked.

"Aw, I threw that dumb thing in the trash," he said.  I think it was Mommy who was the real "dumb thing" on that day.

  • Yep. We had to pay for a Redbox dvd about 2 months back. Found it a few weeks later in the bookshelf.
  • Rylee hid every single pair of her shoes one day. I looked for them forever I found 1 shoe in the box we keep all the papers to burn, 1 in her play kitchen, 1 in her trike basket, toy box, the dog bowl.  the shoe closet now has a door knob cover

  • Haha... Sounds familiar. We find stuff in the kitchen drawers, her dresser, the bookshelf... I even once found her Barbie's bikini in the fridge. Tasty. :-)
