When did you start using the playmat?

My mom got us one last week but I just don't thing he'd be interested in it yet.  When did you start using yours?

  • We started between 4-6 weeks but he didn't like it much.  He is just now starting to find it interesting (he is 8 weeks old now).  I think it has to do with their distance vision, my LO is now able to focus on colors and sounds and stuff.

  • I was using ours at that point.  He would lay there and look at the toys and I would move them and make them make noise.  Eventually he started playing with them himself.... Try it and see! If anything it gives you sometime to play where you aren't holding him...I little break for you...
  • Week two for tummy time
  • we've been using it for weeks, but he only just started to act interested in the toys

  • We started at 2 weeks
  • She started liking it around 7 weeks or so. She loves it now!
  • About a month old probably.  She loves looking in the mirror at herself.  She coos, smiles, and screams at herself.  So cute!
  • We have  had ours out since LO was about 3 weeks or so, but she would always fuss  once set on it.  At about 8-9 weeks she was able to look up at the objects on the mat and giggle at them. We also put her on the Boppy on the mat for tummy time.

  • Around 2 to 3 weeks but he only started being really interested in it this past week or so. Where as before he just lay there, now he looks at the lights and mirror and kicks and bats the things hanging down.

at two weeks for tummy time.

Same here.  She also spends time on her back staring at the dangly things closest to her.

  • Around 2-3 weeks.  He's just now *maybe* looking at the stuff dangling from it.
  • I just set it up and he's digging it so far.  It's lasted longer than his usual attention span of 10 minutes, so I consider it a success.
