do you pee in a cup at every appt?

I'm having my 2nd appt on 12/23, and I'm wondering if they'll make me pee in a cup....I didn't have to at my first appt, but I did go downstairs and have my prenatal labs drawn after my first US.

I didn't have to pee at all (except for initial labwork) for my first pregnancy.

    Yep - the minute I get into a room, they hand me a cup.

    Yes, so far. I learned the hard way last time. I peed before going up in the elevator to my office. Now I know to hold it for them.

    Yes!  And today I was so distraught after they weighed me that I just went into the bathroom and starting peeing before I had the cup!

    When I was pg w/ DD, yes... this time, I didn't do it at my appointment, but they had me go do labs (there is a lab on site) where they drew blood and I PIAC.  I don't know how it will work in the future.

    So far I've had two appts, one at about 8-9wks and one today and I've had to both times.  The first time they needed a "clean catch" in a plastic cup, today just in a regular dixie for a dipstick test.  I'm guessing, I really don't know.

    yes, it's to test for protein and sugar in the urine.  Thw nurse tests it on the spot and gives the results to my midwife by the end of the appointment.

    I have and they warned me that I will have to every time from here out too. They said they do it to check for sugars and proteins in the urine.

    Yes. Everytime I go they test my urine.

    No. Not until my third trimester - now I do at each appt.

    I was nervous about this at first but I did a little research and found that the most updated medical studies show there is no benefit to testing urine throughout the pregnancy. They only test urine for sugar & protein, and there is no evidence showing that this helps them find GD or pre-e early... so it makes sense to hold off until 3rd tri. Even so, most practices still do it.

    Nope, not with my mw and I have even switched practices, still no peeing in a cup.

    Yep at every appt which so far as worked out great because I typically have to pee as soon as I walk into the office. 
    From miscarriages, a diagnosis of a bicornuate uterus, and fibroid removal surgery...It's been quite the journey but it was all well worth it. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    PS - I totally suck at peeing in cups.  At my second appointment I missed the cup and peed all down my leg :o/
