Talk to me about Crinone

I have always taken Endometrin, which is a mess.  They now put me on Crinone.

I laid down after inserting the first one, having read that on here.  So far I've got no discharge though, and I always had it with Endometrin.

Should I expect discharge at some point?

Re: Talk to me about Crinone

  • I've been using it and haven't really noticed much of anything, I wear a pad just in case.

  • I had very little discharge for the 2+ weeks I was on it, and the little discharge that occurred didn't start until I was on it for about a week or so.

I wore a liner, but I didn't really need it.

  • I took the Crinone for about 3 weeks and now I've been taking the generic Prochieve (same medicine-same company) sometimes very little comes out shortly after putting it in but otherwise it stays put. The only thing you may notice is (TMI) this clumpy wet toilet papery looking stuff that once in a while will show up on your toilet paper when wiping.

In the first 2 weeks sometimes there was black or brown stuff mixed in which freaked me out a little but after googling it, apparently that's normal as well.

I never lay down after taking it. I put it in when I first use the bathroom in the morning and then go about my business.

    Hope this helps!

  • This is all so wonderful to hear!  Endometrin was always such a mess, this is a welcome relief!
  • I took it for about 12 weeks. I got the clumpy discharge at the end of the day which is where the body has already absorbed the gel. After you've been on it for a long period, it begins to have an odor but it is still 10x easier than a shot every day.

I did lay down after taking it. (I would get up very early to put it in and then go back to bed.)

  • Ditto what everyone else says, but I also get a lot of wet, watery, clear discharge - like a ton of it - to the point where it's like you wet your pants.  It happens every few days.  No idea why.
