Anyone care to share?
Evan eats his snack off the floor a lot. He'll have a graham cracker or something snapped into smaller pieces...and if I don't feel like wiping off his tray and putting him in his highchair, I'll just put it on a small plate on the carpet. He almost immediately dumps them on the carpet and eats them right off of there while playing. Oh - and I NEVER do this around DH, just during the day when DS and I are alone.
Re: Mom Confession
ha... I have a zillion.. today Eve was playing with her leapfrog table and I looked over and she was banging on it with a HUGE pair of SCISSORS.. like big scissors that i was using to wrap gifts.. They had been on the coffee table and she must have reached out and grabbed them and i didn't see her.
Eve only gets a bath twice a week. Sometimes I think thats gross.
I let her put lots of things in her mouth that I think a lot of people wouldn't.
She has also now licked our plug-in air freshener twice after pulling it out of the socket cuz I let her play in the living room while i was in the kitchen.

I allow Bella to eat off the floor too sometimes.
Sometimes when Bells is in the kitchen eating her dinner and needs some "entertainment encouragement" I'll take out this small vile of bubbles (froma wedding) and blow them in the kitchen (when DH is not home)
If the kid's binky falls on the floor I'll pick it up and put it in my mouth and give it back to them instead of washing it (unless I'm sick).
I once gave Bella this little tube of beads to occupy her when she was a little younger while we were in a craft store and she chewed on the top and the top came off and I am pretty sure she swallowed a few beads (the really tiny tiny kind). I felt like a crap mom that day.
aaaannd....I am going to stop before I sound like a total lunatic of a mom.

It's so great to hear that I'm not the only mom that isn't "perfect!" I love this thread ~ I do a lot of what you gals have already said. Gavin eats off the floor, and I let him put things in his mouth that others probably wouldn't. He plays with things most toddlers shouldn't...like coins! He loves them and we can spend 30 minutes at a time with him dumping a bank out and putting the coins back in. I encourage him to "play" with his food sometimes, just to get him to eat it. He watches Ellen with me, everyday. He gets so excited and dances everytime he hears the music at the beginning of her show.
Ok...better stop before I look like a horrible mom!
I let Rosie eat her lunch on the floor almost every single day. She likes to be able to play with her toys and graze.
I don't vacuum nearly enough, and sometimes Rosie will eat a Cheerio or goldfish cracker that's been hidden somewhere for weeks.
Sometimes I let Rosie sit in a poopy diaper for 10 minutes because I so dread the struggle to change diapers and wipe her.
We do the SAME thing w. the floor. I joke he's like a dog- he'll "clean up" what he spills.
Sometimes I let him sleep in his clothes.
I always let him play with "garbage" like when I finish a 2 liter of diet pepsi or a can of coffee, it's his favorite toy of the day, I'll wait to throw it out until he goes to bed.
Speaking of coffee, some mornings I'll give in and give him a sip or 2 when he begs... he loves it.
He NEVER wears shoes. He won't even keep socks on, shoes are a total fail right now.
This post is funny as just this morning I was worried that I did not clean the eye dropper for E's mylicon drops with hot water when it fell on the floor (I quickly rinsed it off and wiped with a napkin) and then I said to DH, who I am kidding, he will be eating off the floor in a few months
...
Keep the posts coming....it makes us new Moms feel less crazy
Eating off the floor, looking over to see scissors in her hand, playing with garbage, bubbles in the house- yeah I have the same little secrets just between G and I
I'm planning on sending her to daycare at least for part of a day or two while my company is on shut down for the holidays and DH is at work. I figure I am paying for it already and I have a ton of stuff that would be so much easier to get done on my own and I need a couple hours to myself when it is still daylight
I let Evan play w/ my DH's guitar all the time when he's not home. It entertains him for longer than any of his toys will! The other day DH was playing guitar and Evan was flipping out because he couldn't touch it... daddy kept telling him "no, you'll break it"
Evan doesn't have a winter coat. He has a bundle me for his infant carrier, which is great except now that he can sit in the shopping cart he will not stay in the carrier while we shop. The other day I just wrapped a blanket around him and ran into the store (he had on a warm sweatshirt and hat) Now that it's snowing I NEED to get the poor kid a winter coat!
These are making me laugh...
I read outloud at night - whatever book I happen to be reading- well the other night I had a trashy romance- and since dh wasnt home- i read it outloud..
I can play too!
I let Eva color all over the window seat in the dining room. She also sticks stickers on it. I figure it's easier to wipe it down with a Magic Eraser than it is to constantly stop her.
Lately she has been obsessed with watching me put on make-up so I've been putting a little lip gloss on her each morning. And I gave her one of my make-up brushes to play with and she walks around dusting her cheeks. It drives DH nuts!
