Urologist update

We had our second appt with him yesterday and got mixed news.

First the antibiotics did work! H's morphology went from 0 to 9.9%! We couldn't have asked for better results. Unfortunately there are still lingering white blood cells. He said it could be lasting inflammation from the infection and has put him on a prescription anti-inflammatory for 30 days and we'll do a follow up in January.

The bad news is that H's count at this appt was only 10 mil. It's been steadily dropping from 52 mil in March when we started this adventure.

The urologist says H's case has him scratching his head since there is nothing he can pinpoint that would cause the issue in his lifestyle or bloodwork.

Right now he's more concerned with completely treating the infection and then we'll look at the count, but he told us not to even bother trying this month because his count it so low it would only be stressful and frustrating for us. : (

Re: Urologist update

  • That's great about his morph. I'm sorry that the count hasn't improved though. Hopefully the anti-inflammatory will help out.

I'm sorry it wasn't all good news. :(

  • I'm glad his morph improved!  Sorry about the WBC.  That happened to my DH too, it did clear up after 30 days of antibiotics so hopefully the next round of anti-inflamatory drugs help.

As for your RE saying not to bother trying, at least he was honest with you.  Some doctors wouldn't say that.  It will probably be good for your mental health for a nice break too!  GL and I'm hoping January brings you some good news!

  • I understand why your doctor would say that you shouldn't bother trying, but DH has similiar counts and we managed to get pg on our own.  We actually found out we were pg the same day we found out his count was 3.8mil, so don't lose hope - it can happen!

  • My DH's counts have dropped significantly, too, with no explanation as to why.

Great news about the morph - hopefully clearing up the infection will help everything!

We are adopting! Currently waiting for our domestic infant adoption match.
