i lost my mucus plug (no blood, so i knew it wasnt bloody show) before going to bed this past monday night (11/30) and told myself not to get excited, that it meant nothing! DH wanted to have sex to see if it got things going so we did. that was at 1:15 a.m. and i woke up to my water breaking at 2:30 a.m.! he was coming 11 days early! (i was due the 12th)got to hospital around 3:30 am, was 3cm and 80%. still no pain. the contractions werent as close together as they'd like so we started pitocin at 6am (i was 5cm at this point) and they suggested i have my epidural before they started, so i got that (i hate needles, i was so scared to get it and all i felt was a few pinches while it went in, very easy!!). pitocin started and i could sort of feel the contractions but NO PAIN whatsoever. stayed stuck at 5 for a while, as his face was turned sideways so they had me try changing positions a few times. after this i quickly got to 7cm, then 8cm an hour later and then 9cm. i started feeling rectal pressure but no pain. it was still a lot of pressure, so i just closed my eyes and slowly breathed through each one. next thing i know it is time to push! nurse had me try a few and she was concerned id have him out before the dr. got there! i think i pushed through maybe 5 contractions, for 30 minutes and he was here at 3:58 p.m.! pushing was EASY!! no pain! im still in shock, because apparently i had a 3rd degree tear! stitching didnt hurt, either. honestly, the worst part of it was the IV! im EBF, he latched on great and is still feeding great. my nipples are pretty sore but im getting through it and keeping the cream on them. one of my big fears wasnt pooping during, but after when i was all sore. so i drank WAYY too much prune juice and it caught up with me and i had diarrhea for a long time, lol. so if youre scared about hurting to poop, drink prune juice but not too much! anyway, we are home now and recovery is going pretty well! 6lbs, 1 oz and 18.5 inches long
Oh how adorable!!! Way to be super lucky with a painfree labor!!! I just lost my MP about an hour ago and im so trying not to get excited either but its hard!! lol
