I have a confession to make though, I was once one of those people that used that word in a title post. It is like one of those really bad habits that you pick up as a kid and every now & then it pops out when you aren't thinking about what you are typing before you type it.
Someone did point that out right away and I changed it immediately because it really was an honest mistake. I wonder why she just didn't own up and change it? It happens.
Wow, I shouldn't have even read that link... I absolutely hate it when people use that term that way. It's not a synonym of stupid. There are so many people I know that use it that way and I can't listen to them anymore and interrupt what they are saying to tell them not to use that word.

I would have simply mentioned that it can be offensive to the OP (because, like you said, it can be habitual)... but she spelled it wrong. I couldn't resist. She was then told and didn't get it. That's when I had to bust out google images. When BattleBaby showed up, I just wanted to throw things at her.
