Because as the boards get more and more specialized, there are fewer people on every board....less interaction and less drama. No fun.
It just starts to be a little ridiculous, IMO. How far will it go? Should I request a board for Moms Who Bite Their Nails? Babies with Names Starting With M?
Ooh, I know! How about a board for Play Kitchens That Aren't Pink? That seems to be a hot topic around here these days....
I find more than enough drama on this board day-to-day. And 12-24 has no shortage of drama either! Not to mention, some of the boards that have been added create even more drama. So really, it's a win-win situation most of the time.
I guess I don't see what the big deal is. If a board applies to your situation or interests you, go ahead and frequent it. If not, then ignore. What's the problem?

(I can see both sides of this, but I don't care one way or the other.)
I dont think this site has too many boards, but I was part of another site that I think had way tooo many boards. It was a parenting site and they had boards for anything. I couldn't figure out what board I wanted to do.. the boards I could have join were military mom, mom of boys, and June 09 babies. I liked all the woman in all the boards so I ended up trying to keep up with all four boards... lol.
Re: I don't get the "there's too many boards" argument
i don't use every board, but should there be a board for every.little.thing?

Again, please explain why not. I don't understand what the problem is.
