Baby Names

Help combining Evelyn & Charlotte

We're working on a middle name.  Ideally, we'd like to combine Evelyn and Charlotte somehow (two grandma's names).  It may not be possible...i think we've exhausted the combinations.  But thought I'd see if anyone had any additional ideas.  These are the combinations (that don't work!)

Cheve
Evelotte
Charlyn
Lottelyn
Chareve

Thanks!

Re: Help combining Evelyn & Charlotte

  • How about Lynotte? Although it would probably be mistaken as a misspelled Lynette now that I see it written out.

  • Chevrolet?  Evette?

Really I would go with one or another instead of making up a name...

I have so many kids in my district with made up names and I see the kids get annoyed when they have to say their name a few times and spell it for everyone.

  • Charlyn is the only option I like. The others sound way too made up IMO.
  • What's wrong with Evelyn Charlotte or even Charlotte Evelyn?

Both are beautiful names that are very in style right now. I'm REALLY not a fan of made up names.

  • She already has a first name we've picked, looking at this combo for middle name... totally agree with made up/hard to prounounce/hard to spell first names - but don't have the same sentiment for middle and would love to honor both sides of the family.  at the end of the day, we may just end up using evelyn (she's still alive) - just thought i'd see if there were combo ideas i was missing!

  • What about Lynette?  It is the combination of the two endings...

  • I think I'd just pick one or the other.   BTW, I love them both. Wink

  • I'm not trying to be rude, but they all sound ridiculous.

And Cheve is way to close to Chevre, which is a cheese.  A delicious cheese, but still cheese.

    Sadie is not impressed.

  • I am going to come out and say that is silly.

Use one as the first name and one as the middle name.

I have solved all of your problems without making up some name that sounds like a car or cheese.

  • Awful.  Though I do like Lyssa's suggestion of Chevrolet.

Just use one or the other.

  • They are all terrible.
  • Why cant you just use both? Or just one?

Evelyn and Charlotte are beautiful but combined are hideous!

  • Why not Charlotte Evelyn?  Or Evelyn Charlotte?  The combos are just odd.
  • I thought "Charlyn" before I even opened the post

  • Not a fan of combining names.. I have a cousin named Shalin Rian because her grandma's names are Sharon and Linda (Shalin) and her parents names are Rickey and Angela (Rian).. And I think it's totally corny!

  • Don't make up a name.  Just give the child 2 middle names.

  • I don't really care for made up names either, but from your list I really like Charlyn and Chareve (I pronounced it like shuh-reev in my mind).
  • Everlette.  Or the girl from 10,000 b.c. was named Evolet.

This.  Those combos make me cringe.
