What's wrong with colored lights and Angel toppers? ?

White is freaking boring, and doesn't represent Christmas, at least to me. If someone slaps an empty can of PBR on top of the tree and calls it a day, then that's tacky, but Angels? Really?

Anywho, I guess that majority of you would HATE my tree. ?It has colored lights, an angel, and no theme whatsoever. ?All of my ornaments are a mish mosh that I've collected all of my life and each represent something different, but to each their own I guess.

I'm a little grumpy today : /?

    Our tree is pre-lit with clear bulbs, but we have an angel topper that's from when I was little and we also have a random assortment of ornaments that I have collected over the years and that have meaning to us. And I LOVE our tree:)

    I missed these posts, but my tree has an angel and all of our old and new ornaments.

    My sister said, "What's your tree theme? Oh, its just random huh?" with a disapproving tone. lol

    I loooooooooove my tree though. It makes me happy.

    i'm sure your tree is beautiful.  you need to pip when you get home, please:)

    i got an ornament for each of us this year (because it's our first), and i will continue to add on sentimental ornaments every year from now on.  even if it does clash:)

    So, it's "judgy" to express a preference for white vs colored lights? But you're not being judgy when you say that white lights dont represent Christmas, of course. Confused

    My mom bought that for my dad last year for Christmas.  The box even said Fragile on the sides....lol!

    Ours is the same. I love the colors! We have some of those colored balls but I"m not putting htem on our tree. I want the big clear glass bulbs though.

    All other ornaments are just things we've collected over the years. We have a star on our tree because our angel broke lol.

    LOL - I LOVE Colored lights!  My house looks like a gingerbread house with the colored icicle lights!!

    My grandmother lovingly picked out a new ornament for each of her grandkids, every single year from their first Christmas on.

    She passed away last year and those 26 ornaments mean the world to me and will always go on my tree -- no matter how "tacky" they may look to some outsider douchebag.

    My tree has coloured lights too.  It looks warm and homey.  My favourite ornament is a tiny mouse sitting in a bed made out of a half walnut shell.

    I put sparkly tinsley stuff on my tree too.

    I am sick to death of Martha Stewart Christmas.  Make it your own!

    LOLOLOL, when DH was single and living in a big house with a bunch of guys, they decided to each buy a different 6 pack of beer every night, and then decorate the tree with the empty cans and bottles.  I hear about that tree every.single.year.

    And PS, We have an angel tree topper, and no theme...just ornaments that mean something to us.  White lights are on the tree, but colored lights are strung randomly around the house...lol!

    LOL Do whatever makes you happy! I'm happy with my matchy/matchy white light, no angle topper tree. Anything else would bother me. But it's my tree so I get to do what I like :)

    While my Grandmother is still with me, this is exactly what I have. ?They mean the world to me too : )?

    Are trees suppose to have themes? Mine is like yours, colored lights and a bunch of different ornaments I've collected throughout the years, makes it meaningful. Love it.

    However, my outside lights are only white. I live in Florida. We get no snow. It is my way of bringing a little snow to the neighborhood.

    My tree is covered with the ornaments I've received every year since birth from my grandparents and parents.  DH and I get an ornament for each other every year too. Doesn't match, but it's sentimental and I love it. 

    DS will be getting the same starting this year as well.

    I have an angel (though I don't really like the one we have because it's too big for the tree) and a mix of ornaments. I theme the wrapping paper every year. My tree ornaments have a theme too, it's called my life. I have ornaments from my mom and grandmother from my first Christmas and we have a tradition each year my DH and I go pick out a new one to represent that year. I love it.

    my grandma also choose a hallmark ornament for me every year.  Last year she gave us her tree as it was too big for her to put up anymore.  Myt grandma passed away in May.  I now have her Christmas tree with all 25 of my ornaments that she gave me on it.  She also willed the grandchildren her ornaments that she had been collecting since 1980.  I have a mixture of those on my tree also.  There is no theme and as of right now no topper (I have not found one that I liked).  I dont care what others think of my tree.  I am the one that looks at each day and it means the world to me especially on my first xmas without her.
