I am due 1/10, but we don't believe we will make it til then. We have a loaner bassinet, a crib, two bouncers (non-registry users :P), some onesies, diapers, wipes, bottles. I know I will definitely need to get my breast pump, since I will be going back to work for a while after she is born. I was wondering what are some other things that you recommend we definitely get right now?
TIA!!
Re: Another question from 3rd tri...what do we need in the beginning?
I think you are okay. I actually found that I didn't need most of what I had. I think with a bouncer and a bassinet and diapers and wipes, you are set.
You might want a boppy or brest friend.
My baby is two!!! Baby girl 9/17/09
My other baby is still a baby! Baby Boy 11-30-11
Our swing is a godsend! Whenever LO is fussy, we can put him in the swing and he will stop crying and usually fall asleep. It's the only way I can eat dinner sometimes. He doesn't care for his bouncer much yet but he can't kick much to make it move since he is so little. I hope he likes it when he gets a bit bigger.
Also, get a Halo sleep sack. It's sooo easy even DH can do it and LO loves it!
damn, where'd my post go?
pacis, swing, flannel receiving blankets, burp cloths, & fleece footed pajamas were the must-haves.
obviously diapers, wipes, bottles, formula were on the top of the list, too
The things I have used just about every day for these first weeks:
Swing (it's a lifesaver for us, he would NOT sleep anywhere else at first)
Moby wrap - essential to have a carrier, IMO, since babies want to be held a lot
Burp cloths - we use cloth diapers
Boppy
Swaddling blankets
I forgot, we also have blankets and boppy pillow. I was thinking the swing will probably be a Godsend, so I may break down and get that this month after my last shower. Thanks for the input! Keep it coming. I'll probably print this for when I go shopping next weekend.
