I didn't buy two of J's lovey and now I can't find one anywhere. Did you buy a "back up" Or no?

DS1 gave up his lovey when he gave up thumbsucking, but yes, we had 3 back-ups.

We do now! She threw up on it. I had to go to the store and get another before she would go to sleep.

Luckily, I was able to wash the first one, so we now have a spare.

Yes, we do. I bought a small stuffed dog for DH when we were dating. Probably 5 years prior to DD and I think I bought an already out of production stuffed toy at that. Of course DD took to that. I was able to get another off e-bay with the tags still on it.

No- It is a blanket that my mom knitted for ds. DH tried to put him down with another blanket tonight and he fussed until we brought it in. It was weird, I know he is attached to it, but I didn't realize how much. I may have to put my mom to work on another one.

Yes, thank goodness DS's is just the generic carters blanket. He has 3. 1 for daycare and 2 here.

This is gonna sound odd but we hav 6 identical Loveys... The two blankets she sleeps with and drags aroung the house she calls them her B's. She also has one in the car (car

one at each Aunties and one at my parents house. She never has to take one with her because there is always one where she is going, and we never have to worry about losing them because there are so many! When she gets in the car she grabs her blanket and says "hi car B" She doesn't take any of them anywhere, car B stays in the car when we shop but as soon as we get back in the car she's chewing on the corner again.

We received a number of small-blankets-attached-to-a-stuffed-animal lovies and she will accept any of them. They only feel similar, they don't really look alike.

She has one at daycare, and one at my mom's too. I don't have any backups at our house, so there was mayjah drama when she barfed on it and it had to be washed. But it's just a sock monkey and they're easy to find, so I'm not too concerned about it.

Yes, we have two elephants that we use in rotation. She chews on the trunk, so they need to be washed often. Now she's added a duck, so I just bought another one. We'll use those in rotation, too, so she gets used to them.

We flew to my mom's for thanksgiving and Madeleine got sick in the rental car on the way from the airport. She threw up all over the animals. And she was so upset because of being sick. I was so extremely grateful that
I had packed the back-up.

I did a year later and now she totally knows the difference! The new one is too new. Every time I try to give it to her, she's fooled for like 2 seconds and then throws it on the floor and says, "No way."

We do not, and we are so screwed if something happens to D's. It's a red stuffed Ty hippo that has been retired. I've found it online twice, for $75 and $100, and as much as I love my kid, I can't spend it on a back-up lovely. It especially sucks because he chews on the nose so much that I had to cut out the little nose buttons, so the thing already looks nasty and trashed. I kick myself daily for not buying another when I had a chance!! At this point, we don't allow it out of the crib, unless we are going somewhere overnight.

DS's lovey is the FP seahorse doll. I have considered getting an extra one in case this one gets left somewhere, but haven't done it yet.
