Gettin Fixed?

Just wonderin if any of you ladies plan in getting your tubes tied after the baby or having your DH get the job done? I think my body has done enough work after the baby is here...don't you? If my DH wont get his done, then I just wont be givin it up anymore...hahaha.

    If you end up having a c-section, they can tie your tubes immediately after LO is born but before they stitch you up.  One operation - two things done.  I had a friend who did that.

    My mom did this after my younger brother in 1985. She said they had a boy and a girl and they were deffinately done.

    we'll probably only have one kiddo, but i don't think we will jump right on the fixin' - i'll probably just stay on bc for a while.  if/when one of us do it, it will be DH.  truth be told, bc keeps my skin clear and my hormones under control, so i'll probably stay on it anyway.  Stick out tongue

    We only plan on having 1 as well, but I'll likely just get the 3 or 5 year IUD. We'll only be almost 25 when the baby comes, so we want to be able to change our minds down the road if we reconsider a larger family!

    My DH is set on getting fixed after this baby! but i dont want him too, this will be our second and i think he is WAAAY to young to be getting fixed... (he will be 24 in Feb) Tongue Tied

    Yes. We only want two... and we are OLD. : D   So I don't want any more trouble! I will be having a c-section so I'll probably have it taken care of then.

    We'll have one more after this one, after that I'll be getting my tubes tied if I have yet another c-section if not, he'll get snipped.

    This will be our 2nd and DH says he's definately done after that. I think he should be the one that gets fixed but my aunt had two kids and her DH got fixed and it didnt work, when she turned 38, her youngest was 17, they got pregnant, surprise baby all the way!

    DH wants to after we've had two kids, but I don't think he will for awhile at least. I've been pushing for three (or four!) and the only reason he's holding out is because it is so expensive to raise kids. But, I don't think we'll have a clear idea of where we are as far as that goes for at least a few years. DH is graduating from med school this year. You never know where life leads you!

    DH and I were sure we only wanted one.  My first pregnancy was difficult.   But after DD turned one we changed our minds. 

    Don't do anything you may regret later.  Reversing a vasectomy is much easier than reversing tied tubes.

    No.  I had the Paragard IUD between having K and this pregnancy, and I loved it.  I will probably not get it between #2 and #3 (simply because it was OOP and expensive) but I will be getting it after #3.  I just can't imagine making that kind of decision for the rest of my life while I'm still in my mid-twenties.  I like keeping my options open.

    H is getting snipped after this one. I can't take hormonal birth control and my IUD was rejected, so this is what we've decieded. We are content with having 2 and if we ever change our mind there is always adoption :)
